Berthing Aid Systems (BAS)
MARIMATECH has extensive knowledge and experience in the area of BAS. MARIMATECH was the first ever company to introduce and install the laser based technology that has become the standard of BAS today. This is the most reliable technology available and built to an exceptionally high standard.

Quick Release Hooks (QRH) with Mooring Load Monitoring Systems (MLMS)
MARIMATECH has developed a highly robust QRH called the VIKING hook where safety and automation played an important part in the design. This means the hook can be operated by a single person, either at the hook or using remote release technology developed by MARIMATECH.
MLMS provides, as a basic functionality, the operator with exact information on the load sharing of the mooring lines, which is crucial for a safely moored ship. Without the system there is a risk of a disproportionate load spread, which can result in damage to loading arms or jetty equipment and ultimately ship breakaway.

Load Arm Monitoring System (LAMS)
Most oil jetties now have loading arms installed, instead of the old fashioned hoses. Load arms are expensive and require careful handling and maintenance. MARIMATECH can provide a system which can monitor the loading arms and offer early warning signals, eliminating the need for an emergency shut down.
MARIMATECH can offer two different LAMS models, one of which is simply warning system. The other model monitors the load arm position giving the operator constant information on its position. |

Ship Shore Communication Link System (SSL)
This kind of system is mostly dedicated to LNG terminals. The basic function is to connect the ships cargo control room to the shore control room. The connection includes telephone lines, data lines and Emergency Shut Down (ESD and MLMS). It is mandatory for LNG carriers to have an SSL system installed.
The SSL system includes:
- Fibre optical cable connection
- Electrical cable connection
- Pneumatic ESD
- Wireless MLMS

Portable Piloting Unit (PPU)
The PPU system is based on GPS technology which allows the pilot to have all the information needed for safe arrival and departure of terminals. The PPU combined with a highly accurate DGPS positioning system makes for an extremely precise system, almost matching BAS. The advantage of a PPU system is that the pilot has information on the positioning of the ship all the time, compared to a laser which only comes onto play during the final parallel approach to the jetty. PPU is expected to become mandatory for all harbours in the future, including LNG terminals. |

Marine Environmental Monitoring Systems (MEMS)
The MEMS is customizable to the clients requirements which can include any of following:
Wind speed and direction
Air pressure
Air humidity
Sea current speed and direction
Wave height
Wave period
Tidal elevation
Other special sensors are: visibility, rainfall, solar radiation. |
