| AUG07 - New E-Sea Fix software |
And in order to make it easier to operate the system MARIMATECH has introduced a completely new software package, the E-Sea Guide. This program is developed using all the experience collected from more than 65 systems delivered world wide.
As an example setting up the system is much faster with the new software and also the general operation is made much more user friendly.

Set-up screen.
Support of ARCS chart format. Another important feature of the is the capability of using ARCS charts. This chart format is being used in a wide range of countries for a number of reasons such as low price and therefore it is important that the pilot software supports this format.
Docking mode. Many will claim that the most important reason for using the portable pilot system is to assist at the final approach. Being the largest supplier of berthing aid systems, MARIMATECH implemented the features from the laser docking systems into the E-Sea Guide software.
In such a way that the pilot gets a dedicated docking mode screen picture focusing on the approach with speed bow/stern, rate of turn, distance to the jetty etc. Presented in such a way that it can be observed on short and long distance with large scale numbers and symbols.
Simulation mode. For training purpose the E-Sea Guide comes with a built-in simulator. By using this facility it allows e.g. an instructor to carry out training of the system from a classroom. The control of the simulated vessel are done from the keyboard and the ship will be shown on the chart as if it was a live situation. Only indication is a large symbol on the screen showing the simulation mode.
General user interface. One of the things we learned from the many systems we have delivered was that the level of the pilots vary a lot. Some of them had hardly used a PC or Windows before. And some of them were users on a high level.
It means that we had to make the system very user friendly and we wanted to make a system that could be used by all levels of users. In such a way that in case you want to use only the basics, that is possible - and when you are ready for the more sophisticated there are also room for that. Some of the menus are hidden in order not to confuse the first-time user but will be available on request.
So far we have already delivered more than 50 software packages and the feed back we get is excellent.
